Release Athens 2025 welcomes Gojira on Saturday, July 19th, at Water Square (Plateia Nerou).




One of the leading bands of modern heavy metal will present an earth-shattering show, shortly after their notorious performance at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics, which grabbed the attention of the entire world!

Defying any kind of categorization, the four Frenchmen have managed to create their own characteristic sound! Heavy yet emotional, they write dark and overwhelming anthems, rooted in death metal, but also incorporating progressive, technical death metal, thrash, and tribal influences. At the same time, Joe Duplantier's philosophical and environmentally conscious lyrics reflect the band's ecological perspective.

Their lineup remains unchanged, with the brothers Joe and Mario Duplantier, Christian Andreu, and Jean-Michel Labadie, as well as their exceptional skills, which have made them one of the top live acts in the world.

The excellent "Fortitude" (2021), their most recent studio album, is their most successful to date, both in Europe and the USA. An optimistic album, as they themselves describe it, that calls for an ecological awakening in response to current global issues.
