A two-act ballet

From 5 to 7 December, the famous Ballet of the Odessa National Opera presents in Megaron Athens Concert Hall, its new international dance extravaganza, “Thumbelina”, a performance for the whole family based on the beloved fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen!




Spectacular stage sets, glittering costumes and unique effects will fill Megaron’s Alexandra Trianti Hall for an unforgettable show for both children and adults. The leading roles are performed by the renowned soloists of the famous dance ensemble, which, like the historic Odessa National Opera, boasts a history of over two hundred years of collaboration with great artists.

Everyone knows Thumbelina, the tiny heroine of Hans Christian Andersen’s fantasy, who was born inside a magical flower. Through the unique spectacle prepared by the Ballet of the Odessa National Opera, the charming protagonist of the famous Danish writer comes to life on stage, living her entertaining adventures once again.
The group of talented authors, who reinterpreted Andersen’s fairy tale in their own way, composed the original music and libretto, created an enchanting choreography full of humour and tenderness, designed exclusive scenery and adorned the dancers with glamorous costumes!
