The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker, the timeless masterpiece by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is presented by the Varna State Opera Ballet, featuring sixty outstanding dancers, soloists and corps de ballet on December 23 & 24, 2025.




The choreography follows the classical version by Petipa and Ivanov, brought to life with impressive stage sets, spectacular costumes and exceptional dance performances of the highest standard. The production invites audiences on a magical journey to the dreamlike Land of Sweets, making it an enchanting experience for both children and adults.

The brilliant music written by Tchaikovsky is one of the most recognisable in the international repertoire.

The story follows young Clara, whose Nutcracker doll comes to life on Christmas Eve, leading her on an extraordinary adventure through a world filled with dancing snowflakes, toy soldiers and magical kingdoms.
