Patras Carnival 2014

  The Carnival of Patras, Greece’s major Carnival event, is organised and celebrated again this year with a rich programme of festivities that will run until March 2, 2014.

  During the carnival period, Patras’ residents and visitors are able to attend several vibrating events and live in festive rhythms. The Hidden Treasure, ‘Bourboulia’, the Children Carnival and ‘Tsiknopempti’ (named after the fact that barbecued meat is eaten on that Thursday in Greece) are just some of the events of the carnival programme.

  The latter will culminate on the weekend 01-02 March 2014 with the Carnival Parades and the Closing Ceremony at St. Nicolas pier, where the Carnival King will be set on fire, followed by thousands of spectacular fireworks. The colours and music that fill the streets of Patras on this celebration will render the city unforgettable for all.
