Five international performances in festive Athens

Every child will be impressed, and every adult will be fascinated by the modern circus of Laterna Magika from the Czech Republic that come to Athens with “Wonderful Circus”, their most spectacular performance (December 11-16, Badminton Theater). Just before the holidays, the Cirque Eloize returns once again to Greece. The famous Canadian group that combines music with dance and acrobatics in an explosive manner comes with a performance titled “iD”, which takes us to a public place where people meet to find their identity and renounce their anonymity (December 15-20, Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall). Winners of over 130 awards, including 5 Grand Prix and 45 gold medals, in the last ten years only, the dance group of the iconic Bolshoi Ballet Academy comes to Athens to perform the “Nutcracker”, probably the most classic Christmas tale of all time (December 19-27, Badminton Theater, http://abcd.gr). The ballet version of “Don Quixote”, as choreographed by Marius Petipa for the Bolshoi Ballet, with music by Ludwig Minkus, is presented in the city for only seven performances. The romantic story of Miguel de Cervantes is revived by the best dancers of the Bolshoi Ballet, and the Moscow Classical Ballet (December 22, 23, 25, 29, 30, Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall). The internationally renowned Svetlana Zakharova, the first non-Italian dancer to be named prima ballerina at La Scala, returns to Athens to star in “Giselle”, a milestone performance for ballet lovers, accompanied by the Moscow Classical Ballet and by Sergei Polunin as her partner (December 26-28, Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall, http://www.megaron.gr).
