Three famous musicals in the theaters of Athens
In the particularly prolific theatrical scene of
Athens, musicals become a strong trend this year and the options for a feel-good theatrical evening in the city are more numerous than ever before. Since early November, the famous “Mamma Mia” runs at the main stage of
Badminton Theatre, in its original, West-End version, with a live orchestra and the unforgettable songs of Abba. At
Pantheon Theater, the famous Greek director Yiannis Kakleas stages “Nine”: a musical by Arthur Kopit and Maury Yeston, which is inspired by “8½”, Federico Fellini’s masterpiece, and tells the story of a famous director, Guido Contini, who, at the age of 40, is facing crises of various kinds. “Billy Elliot” is based on the namesake film of 2000 and, of course, focuses on ballet and is already staged at
Pallas Theatre, directed by Dimitris Lignadis.
