“7 Food Sins”: a new gastro-pub in Plaka
The gastronomic scene of
Plaka - the most historic district of
Athens and a must-see for the city’s visitors - mostly featured tourist-style restaurants until recently. This situation seems to be changing lately. Along its alleys you now find elegant wine bars and all-day hangouts. August has seen the opening of the “7 Food Sins” gastro-pub, which is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building of 1911, on Filomousou Eterias Square. The interior is decorated in a contemporary style, but as long as the weather is fine, prefer the tables on the square. Those of you who are morning types can sit for a glass of frozen lemonade, a cup of coffee and eggs Benedict. At noon, you can have a burger-style Greek salad and a beer and, from the afternoon onwards, the kitchen proposes several creative dishes, such as the “Crunchy Mousaka”, the “Inside-Out Souvlaki” and the Black Angus tri-tip with potato chips and truffle salt.
