Fistiki Fest: a reason to go to Aegina

The trip to Aegina by hydrofoil from the port of Piraeus lasts just 40 minutes, making this island of the Saronic Gulf an ideal choice for easy weekends, or even day trips all year round. The “Fistiki Festˮ pays tribute to the pistacchio, the island’s iconic product, and offers a good reason to go to Aegina in September (17-20/9). As always, the heart of the festival is the large exhibition with dozens of kiosks and on-the-spot cooking along the port’s quay. Interesting parallel events (exhibitions, workshops, guided tours) highlight many areas around the island and embrace traditional activities such as pottery and embroidery.
