More and more Athenians spend relaxed Sunday noons (or afternoons, if they have stayed up until late the night before) in the company of eggs, burgers, pancakes, energizing juices and all the other components of a proper brunch.

Reserve a table and try Tunisian shakshouka (poached eggs with vegetables and saffron sauce), Thai- style burgers, and French pate from chicken livers.
In “48 Urban Garden“ (48, Armatolon & Klefton Str., +302130281866) in the neighbourhood of Ambelokipi, the Sunday delicacies are prepared in the shiny wheeled trailer that takes up a part of the place and are consumed in the atmospheric and stylish indoor garden. Eggs Benedict and the traditional recipe of “Kayanas” (scrambled eggs with tomato), burgers, hot dogs with Greek sausages and other dishes that match the signature cocktail with the name “Secret Garden”.
Brunch is a daily affair for the eco-friendly “It” (29, Skoufa Str., +302103635773) in Kolonaki, with eggs, French toasts, croque madames and fruit salads. On Sundays, however, the options multiply and oven-baked eggs, pasta, and a delectable Sunday Burger with truffle oil come, among other things, to your table.
If you are travelling with the kids, the brunch on the 6th floor of the luxurious “St. George Lycabettus” hotel (2, Kleomenous Str., +302107416000) in Kolonaki is a nice suggestion. While the children are kept busy in a creative manner, you can enjoy the spectacular view, live jazz music and a very rich buffet. There are many à la carte options too.
