Event: El Greco Year, discover the Cretan grand master

A great painter, sculptor and architect and, for many people, one of the precursors of modern art, Domenikos Theotokopoulos, of Cretan descent, achieved great things in Toledo, Spain, where he also acquired the nickname “El Greco”. The 400th anniversary of his death last year gave rise to the “El Greco Year”, which was celebrated with retrospective exhibitions both in Toledo and in Athens, attracting thousands of visitors.
