Culinary adventure

Join us as we experience Greek food, and preparation as it has been done over the ages. Visit various villages throughout Greece and her islands as we learn culinary secrets directly from the source: the warm and welcoming people of Greece who prepare Greek cuisine for us. You will be immersed in the culinary arts that remain true to tradition.

The two-week adventure weaves cultural explorations along with gastronomic adventures. We will see traditional cheese making, visit an olive press, see many cooking demonstrations, all presented by lively and inviting locals who love to share their centuries old preparations. Additionally, a visit to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum highlight our few days in Athens. We will visit other archeological sites as we wind our way through the country. Stand on stage at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. Experience the breathtaking beauty of Mystras. Learn about life on some of Greece’s smaller islands. And our trip culminates with the gastronomic and cultural explosion that is a true Greek Orthodox Easter Celebration. Greeks from everywhere gather on the island of Paros for their lively celebration of the biggest holiday in Greece. We will be amongst them, dancing and singing and celebrating good food and life!!

Our host, Antonis, has been in the travel industry for decades, and enjoys sharing the workshops that highlight the most unique Greek cooking. He has arranged demonstrations by respected local chefs, each one passionate about their craft. Whether it is sausage making or fish soup, each presentation is special and quite a learning experience.

While the demonstrations and Greek food are the heart of this culinary adventure, Antonis allows for enough free time for everyone to explore and create their own personal memories of our travels. After we visit the Acropolis, guests have the afternoon free to wander through the Agora (Athens Central Market) or experience any of a number of interesting destinations in Athens. You will be able to explore some of the islands on your own. And you can immerse yourself in the traditions that are a part of Orthodox Easter, or just sit and enjoy the island of Paros quietly.

Your adventure covers all hotel accommodations, all travel throughout the trip, breakfast every day, and most other meals. We have a specific itinerary available for those who are interested. Visit our website at CulinaryAdventuresGreece.com for more info. We would be glad to talk to you to answer any questions you may have. As a Greek American, I am excited to be a part of this cultural and culinary adventure. But this trip is for everyone! Anyone who has ever used olive oil will appreciate what this trip has to offer. Please join us for the food, fun and festivities. You’ll be telling stories of this trip for years.
