Laganas at a glance

Laganas is a popular holiday destination, especially with the younger holidaymakers, who want to experience sun, sea, sand and a good party.
Zante was a relatively undiscovered island until recently, but now there are many great package deals that make it an attractive place to visit for a summer break. The thing that draws many tourists to Laganas is the weather, temperatures rarely drop below 30 degrees, so it is almost always good enough weather to go for that much needed dip in the pool.

There are also many attractions on offer, especially water sports. There are many day trips that you can take to smaller islands, a famous one being the Marathonisi, which is otherwise known as Turtle island, for the obvious reason that it is home to many sea turtles. There are many small caves that are beautiful for swimming in and the water is clear as day, therefore also being a great snorkelling spot.

You really do savour the best of the Mediterranean when you visit Greece, it is such a beautiful country, with culture, architecture, fabulous local cuisine, as well as in many areas an amazing party scene.  From my personal experience, Laganas is a great place to stay as you can experience everything on offer in one place. I would recommend staying in one of the many hotels close to the main strip so you can have easy access to the beaches as well as having a quick and simple journey home if you have been out at the many bars and clubs on offer. The nightlife here is really amazing, one night you can be dancing to some top DJs and other nights strutting your moves to good old school cheese for a bit of fun. There really is something to suit everyone’s music tastes. Most of the bars along the strip have fantastic happy hour offers on cocktails and local shots, which are sure to get you in the party mood for the rest of the night. There is also nothing better than waking up after a good night and jumping in the swimming pool and drying off in the sunshine.

If you want a night off the drinking, there are many restaurants that welcome tourists with open arms, and allow you to sample some of the finest Greek cuisine.  Greece is not just a country of smashing plates and ancient temples, it really has become one of the liveliest party holidays in the Μediterranean. The locals are extremely friendly and always want to show you a good time. If you are looking for a holiday with a group of friends, this is a perfect destination.
