Future Heritage – The Architecture of Today, the Heritage of Tomorrow

OPEN HOUSE Athens returns on Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 April, with 70 buildings and a number of parallel activities kicking off a week earlier!



Dozens of buildings open their doors, 3 routes unfold in the city and 500 volunteers prepare to show us the architecture of Athens.

Open House is a two-day free architectural guided tour for the public. An event based on volunteerism and aiming to get to know architecture and Athens a little better. An excuse to go out into the city, to look up at the streets we pass by every day, to see the buildings from a different perspective...

Programme:

The event includes guided tours of public and private buildings, modern and historic, monuments, museums, theatres, residences, workplaces, and routes of architectural interest:

  - Open tours | 5 & 6 April
The well-established two-day free architectural tours that open up buildings and sites of architectural interest in the city. (Queuing, no reservation, QR code needed). Guided tours in English are available in all buildings.

- Open walks | 29 & 30 March
Three themed walks in the city.

During OPEN HOUSE Athens 2025, in addition to the guided tours of the buildings, and, the organised walks, there will be guided tours to schoolchildren and other educational groups (OPEN SCHOOL), guided tours to production and creative spaces (MADE IN Athens) as well as guided tours to architectural offices operating in Athens (OPEN OFFICE).

The program of activities will be accompanied by a series of competitions:
OPEN PHOTO, OPEN VOTE (public award - voting for the best tour), OPEN your map, OPEN YOUR PORTFOLIO, and OPEN CALL FOR VISUAL STORIES.

In order to attend the guided tours, the creation of an electronic identity (QR code) is required for each visitor. The electronic identity does not correspond to a reservation or priority queue; it simply facilitates the process of recording visitors.

The "Time to Close Party" will take place on 6 April 2025.
