Ballet Preljocaj – Requiem(S)

Megaron - the Athens Concert Hall welcomes spring with a unique series of concerts and performances highlighting the power of music and dance. The festival concludes on April, 13-14, 2025 with the new production of Ballet Preljocaj Requiem(s) by leading choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, a daring and deeply moving exploration of life and death through contemporary dance.

How to speak the silent language of mourning? In his new creation, Angelin Preljocaz constructs a series of imaginary rituals that capture in an emblematic way the richness of emotions caused by the loss of a loved one. Rituals that range from the deepest pain to the joy of existence and are created to defuse the danger that lurks when reason is confronted with the fact of death.
Through modern musical textures and traditional kinesthetic codes redefined, a group of nineteen dancers perform the enchanting ritual of memory.

In the performance REQUIEMS by Ballet Preljocaj, smoke and strobe lights are used.
