Residence and Studio of Artist Alekos Fassianos

The atelier and residence of Alekos Fassianos is a small house of typical cycladic architecture, with rich curves dressed in white asbestos, a traditional roof, and with a vista of the Aegean from the small windows. It is located in the island’s main city (chora), Ioulida.

Fassianos rst discovered Kea in the spring of 1967. He instantly fell in love with the island’s picturesque and historical sites and bought this small atelier to live and work during the summer months. The space is lled with very personal creations from functional objects to paintings and toys, sculptures, and anything else created from the simplest of materials.

The studio is of signicant importance to the deeper understanding of the artist’s life, work and aesthetics. The studio is operated by the Alekos Fassianos Estate with the goal to exhibit and interpret the legacy of Alekos Fassianos and promote the study of his prolic body of work.
