DakhaBrakha live in Thessaloniki

The famous polyphonic world music quartet from Kiev, DakhaBrakha, performs at the Principal Club Theater, at Thursday 8 of December, as part of a major European tour at a pivotal moment not only for their homeland Ukraine but also for the whole world.

With an incredibly powerful stage presence, (they appear on stage, wearing those tall furry hats), they deliver their "electric" repertoire - which includes wide vocals combined with myriad instruments with accordion, granges, harmonica, and cello playing a leading role. The quartet blends everything into loose musical cocktails in their own unique way: Ukrainian folk traditional songs are intertwined with elements of cabaret, jazz, rock, punk and hip-hop, harmonies from Balkan music, accompanied by traditional instruments from Russia, Australia, India and elsewhere.

At the crossroads of Ukrainian folklore and theatre, DakhaBrakha have honed an evocative musical approach based on eerie vocal harmonies and thunderous percussion, enhanced by ethereal cello and accordion reverberations. For their concerts in Greece, DakhaBrakha have specially prepared a new and unique stage program.
