Open House Athens

The 10th Open House Athens will take place in Athens on 1 & 2 April 2023!

Dozens of buildings open their doors, 2 routes unfold in the city and 500 volunteers prepare to show us the architecture of Athens.
Open House is a two-day free architectural guided tour for the public.
An event based on volunteerism and aiming to get to know architecture and Athens a little better.
An excuse to go out into the city, to look up at the streets we pass by every day, to see the buildings from a different perspective...

The programme:
The event includes guided tours of public and private buildings, modern and historic, monuments, museums, theatres, residences, workplaces, and routes of architectural interest:
  - Open Tours | 1 & 2 April
The well-established two-day free architectural tours that open up buildings and sites of architectural interest in the city. (queuing, no reservation)
  - Open Walks | 1 & 2 April
Two themed walks in our city will take you through the Byzantine architecture of Athens and the mansions of Kifissia.

The programme is accompanied by a series of parallel activities that start a few days earlier:
- Guided Tours - Made in Athens | 30 & 31 March.
Guided tours of studios and factories by the creators/producers themselves

- Open School | 31 March (only for this activity booking is required)
Guided tours for organized educational groups at Made in Athens sites, Open Tours buildings and Open Walks routes. Due to the limited number of places, priority will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Online tours:
  - Open Office | premiere 3 April
A series of interviews with Athenian architects who are distinguished for their contemporary work.
The videos will be uploaded to the Open House Athens YouTube channel.

Competitions:
  - Design the poster | until 28 February
Poster design competition with the prize of a scholarship to one of the following Vakalo Art & Design College one-year workshops: "Web Comics", "Photography" or "Artist Books"

Audience Award: competition to select the audience's favourite tour.

  - Open your map | 1-9 April | 1-9 April
Instagram photo competition on the theme of the OHA 2023 visitors' sealed maps

  - Open your portfolio | until 28 April
Portfolio competition with a prize of a scholarship to the Master of Architecture Design programme at Vakalo Art & Design College

The info point for the event will be at the IANOS shop, 24 Stadiou Street, from 30 March to 2 April.
The closing party will take place on 2 April.
