Greece after the War - The Years of Hope

The European Cultural Centre of Delphi, located in the Exhibition Hall of the Conference Centre, is proud to present the photography exhibition by Robert A. McCabe entitled "Greece after the War: The Years of Hope" until Saturday 30 September, 2023.

Poros, 1957. Unloading watermelons from the Peloponnese

In the words of Robert A. McCabe himself: "My first visit to Greece took place in the summer of 1954. At that time, the Greece I encountered was mired in poverty... Little did I know how quickly Greece would progress and transform itself. I am truly delighted to have had the opportunity to record and document this incredibly significant period in Greece's modern history... Most of the approximately sixty-six photographs you will see have never been shown to the public before, portraying aspects that only those from older generations will remember ever existed." The exhibition features texts written by Robert McCabe, Panagiotis Roilou, and Katerina Liberopoulou, which are also included in the accompanying book of the same title. The exhibition will run from June 10 to September 30, 2023.
