KENTAVROS HERONAS CAVE is located 1km away from Vizitsa at an altitude of 600m. The route is lush green, on a traditional cobbled road. According to mythology this cave was the place where the remarkable and famous Centaur Heronas lived. During antiquity, wise Heronas was mentor of many remarkable personalities such as Iasonas, Hercules, Achilles and Asclepius. Ancient Greeks had such respect for Heronas that they even gave his name to a star constellation.
