Treasures from the Shanghai Museum at the Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum adds on its temporary exhibits collection two masterpieces from the Shanghai Museum.

Namely, the bronze pan, or wash basin made for princess Zi Zhong Jiang (770 – late half 7th century BC) and the hand scroll painting "Travelling along the Clear River" by painter Wu Hong of the Qing Dynasty (17th century).

The two exhibits will be on display from 28 October 2017 until 30 April 2018 at the ground floor foyer of the Acropolis Museum – where no admission ticket is required – during museum opening hours.

The showcase of these two masterpieces from the Shanghai Museum forms part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two museums. Furthermore, as part of the cultural exchange agreement between the Shanghai and the Acropolis Museum’s two extraordinary exhibits from the Acropolis Museum [marble statue of archaic Maiden 670 (520-510 BC) and a red-figure lekanida lid with a Dionysian scene (350-325 BC)] will also be displayed at the Shanghai Museum between 11 January and 8 April 2018.
