Crete from the 19th to the 20th century. Economy and society at the Historical Museum of Crete


The Historical Museum of Crete presents the temporary exhibition Crete from the 19th to the 20th century. Economy and society which will last until May 31, 2014.

The exhibition aims to bring forward the political, economic and social changes that occurred in Crete before and after the Union with Greece. The establishment of the Bank of Crete and the development of Cretan Archaeology are some of the highlighted topics.
This event, realised by the Historical Museum of Crete, is co-organised by the Region of Crete and the Society of Cretan Historical Studies, with the valuable collaboration of the Historical Archive of the National Bank of Greece.
