Athens Photo Festival 2020


Athens Photo Festival, furthers its long-standing commitment to encouraging diversity, inclusion, creativity and critical thinking, with the aim to challenge the boundaries and experience of a traditional festival of photography and visual culture.

Athens Photo Festival 2020 feature the work of over 100 artists from 35 countries, aiming to reflect the diversity of photography and contemporary visual culture, and to create a dialogue between different perspectives, approaches and practices. The main exhibitions will take place at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138, covering an area of 2.000 square meters. Exploring multiple cultural, artistic, social and political positions, the Festival features a wide variety of works, ranging from fine art to documentary, photo-based installations, and multimedia works.

At the core of the Festival, in addition to exhibitions, is an engaging and multi-layered program of onsite and online events and the year-round activities, including education and public programs, talent development initiatives, social practice, and community outreach.
