4th WAVE running

The 4th WAVE running coastal race takes place on the beach of Avdira-Keramoti (Northern Greece) on Saturday, August 19, 2017.

The WAVE running offers participants the opportunity to run by the sea, while enjoying the region’s amazing beaches and the breeze of the Thracian Sea.

WAVE running includes four coastal races; the 28km race (Ancient Avdira – Keramoti) starts from the birthplace of Democritus and Protagoras. The race’s route goes through the delta of Nestos River, within the National Park of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The 10km race (Monastiraki – Area of Nestos Delta – Keramoti) takes place on a part of the 28km race’s route. The 5km race is ideal for athletes of all levels wishing to try running on the sand. Finally, the 500m race is suitable for children up to 12 years old.

WAVE running combines sports with environment awareness urging runners to discover a landscape of exceptional beauty.

The 4th WAVE running is held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organisation.
