Few meters after the Museum of Children Arts visitors will see the Municipal Gallery which is housed in a preserved mansion called Kalevra mansion. The building is a great example of Epirus-West Macedonia traditional architecture and was built in the middle of 19th century by experienced craftsmen of Epirus. Its decoration is mainly wooden. The building was restored by the Municipality of Xanthi and dedicated to the memory of Christos Pavlidis, modern local painter who gave many of his paintings as present to the Municipality. His paintings are part of the permanent exhibitions in the Municipal Gallery. It also hosts periodical exhibitions all year long.
