Camping in Greece

Make a reservation on small paradise spots.

Camping grounds in Greece offer you a host of various pleasant activities. Take advantage of the comfortable lodgements and the high quality of services and infrastructure. In every Greek campsite the people in charge and the personnel will welcome you with a smile and offer you the opportunity to savour long-forgotten delights.

There are 268 organised camping areas throughout Greece bearing the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) logo. You can pitch a tent, settle with your caravan or occupy a small cottage; the facilities cater for a wide range of needs. Whether you prefer the comfort of a motorhome, or you’d rather sit by the pool for a “dolce far niente” or even enjoy yourself in a night club, you’ll find it all in the same campsite.

Remember that: free camping is prohibited in Greece and in particular “tent setup or caravan parking in archaeological sites, along the coast, on the outskirts of public forests, in forests and spaces for public use in general”.

Mind the environment: Be extra careful with activities that may cause an environmental disaster such as for example lighting a fire or disposing of your garbage. In any way before setting off for some beach or a mountain, make sure you carry all the necessary provisions that will enable you to enjoy your vacation in a better, safer and more comfortable way (i.e. a good tent for 3-4 people, an inflatable mattress for a good night’s rest, a folding table and chairs, heat-insulating water containers, a portable fridge, a flashlight, an umbrella and a fist aid kit).

Today there are dozens of camping grounds from the northernmost all the way down to the southernmost tip of Greece, ready to offer services comparative to those of a good hotel. Many of them are like small settlements with shops, restaurants, coffee bars as well as recreational areas (swimming pools, playgrounds, beach bars and beach volleyball courts are but a few of the available services!).

There are good campsites in Peloponnese (Foinikounta, Gytheio, Pylos, Elafonisos, Drepano), in Mt Pilio (Kato Gatzea), in Macedonia (Pieria, Halkidiki etc), Ipeiros (Syvota), Thrace (Fanari Komotinis) as well as in every resort in Cyclades, Dodecanese and Ionian islands.

Experience the calm and magic and recover your happy mood in one of the wonderful Greek camping sites. Discover the true sense of freedom and relaxation a few paces away from the seashore amidst a verdant landscape, in the company of a book or your best friends, that will soon grow to include the other campers; this is the shortcut to a dream vacation!!
